The purpose of the Talent Summit is to discuss the ways in which diversity relates to the Talent Cycle (i.e., recruitment, development, and retention). This half-day educational event is designed to help companies maximize the talents and skills of current employees, and highlights best practices for recruiting a diverse workforce.

June Carter

June Carter

Wells Fargo

June M. Carter is Senior Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy Consultant for Wells Fargo’s Community Bank Eastern Region. She has been with Wells Fargo since 1992 and is based in Charlotte, NC. She has held numerous positions with the company including leadership positions in Human Resources, Risk Management and Commercial Lending. June is a certified diversity practitioner who in her current role consults to executive leaders across Wells Fargo on diversity and inclusion, team member engagement, change management, organization development, and other business strategies. She has served as the lead consultant for Wells Fargo’s Black/African American Connection Team Member Network for the last 5 years.

In addition to her position at Wells Fargo, June has served as the former Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Time Out Youth, a local 501c3 that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth ages 13-23 in the Charlotte area, and continues to serve as a consultant to the organization. Recently, June served as one of many facilitators for the RACE Exchanges – “RACE: Are We So Different?” exhibition and community dialogues at Discovery Place in the spring of this year.

Esther Wright is currently the Director, Human Resource, at NorthgateArinso. NorthgateArinso is headquartered in Hemel Hempstead, UK. Esther’s primary responsibilities’ is providing complete HR support to the North America region for NorthgateArinso.

Esther provides HR consulting and support to Client Services, Sales, Marketing, Operations, HR Consulting, and other business areas. She is a member of the North America Senior Leadership team. She acts as an integral part of the organization’s People and business strategy.

Locations include Toronto, Montreal, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Cincinnati, and other cities in North America.

With her team of twelve HR professionals, she responsible for Talent Management and Succession planning, Talent Acquisition, ensuring delivery of HR services for employees, Payroll processing, Learning and Development, and Compensation and Benefits.

Esther has served on the Diversity Council with her previous employeer at Convergys and is excited about the opportunity to support Diversity strategy at NorthgateArinso.

Esther graduated from Rockhurst College, in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a member of SHRM and HR People and Strategy organizations.

Esther is married to Emerson Wright, has three children, Brandon, Talia, and Sangita.
She and her husband has lived in Jacksonville for 5 years, attends New Life Christian Fellowship. Esther is involved in several local Leadership organizations and volunteers her time in several non-profit organizations.

Dana Smith

Mayo Clinic

Dana Smith is a Staffing Specialist with Mayo Clinic in Florida and provides recruitment support for various departments within Mayo including Surgical Services and Clinic Nursing. Dana has been employed with Mayo Clinic since 2008 and has worked within Human Resources supporting Employee Education and Recruitment. Recently, Dana has become part of Mayo Clinic’s recruitment strategy focused on addressing Diversity Recruitment. With assistance from the Recruitment Advisor, Dana is utilizing innovative recruitment tools to reach various candidates across the country and beyond.

After graduating from the University of North Florida, Dana completed a yearlong appointment in the AmeriCorps Program leading a literacy program in rural Maine. Other professional experience includes working with Communities in Schools a national non-profit to help children successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life. Dana provided drop-out prevention case management and worked as a student/mentor advocate for Take Stock in Children, a mentoring scholarship program. In addition to her professional career, Dana has been fundraising and volunteers with the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation for the past 4 years.

Andreina Zubizarreta

Andreina Zubizarreta currently manages the Recruitment Marketing Strategies for Mayo Clinic in Florida, providing consulting services to staffing personnel while fostering collaboration, alignment and best practices’ sharing among all Mayo sites. She recently moved to Jacksonville, FL after living for many years in Boston, MA. Andreina has an MBA in Product and Brand Management from Boston College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. During her time in Boston she supported Comcast’s local diversity efforts as a Multicultural Marketing Manager for the Greater Boston Region.

Andreina is a proud Venezuelan with Basque roots, whose native tongue is Spanish and has a passion for travel, learning languages and different cultures. After completing high school she lived for one year in Copenhagen, Denmark as an exchange student where she not only learned Danish and some German, but also gained a unique life experience. She’s a member of diversity organizations such as ALPFA and NSHMBA and has always mentored Latino students on their transition from their home countries to achieve success in the US.

Cal Jackson

Cal Jackson is the CEO of Diversity Inclusion Ventures and a certified NTL Diversity Practitioner. After 5 years as a television news reporter, Cal served as a press secretary for the mayor of Atlanta and later began his journey through corporate at MCI and Prudential. He also produces documentaries and corporate diversity videos for his education modules.

Cal is most known in the Diversity and Inclusion community for his design, development and delivery of engaging and thought-provoking cultural competence workshops. Topics include generations, gender, lookism, self-awareness, discrimination, bias, classism and the cultural competence of managers.

Linda Plummer

Linda Plummer has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, specializing in workshop design and facilitation, employee relations, and employment. She also has experience in managing sales and call center operations with AT&T She has consulted with a wide range of organizations including: Blue Cross and Blue Shield, St. Vincent’s, and the Federal Reserve Bank.

Linda has an MBA from Georgia State and a Bachelors degree from Penn State. She has national certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She was awarded the First Coast Trainer Excellence Award in 2007 and the HR Professional of the Year award in 2011. She currently serves on the Board of the Business Leadership Network (BLN) and the Friends of Study Circles Board.

On a personal note, Linda is currently enjoying a 6 week Improv course and plays league tennis.
