Greetings from Dennis Kennedy, CEO & Founder of the National Diversity Council
The Florida Diversity Council has gained an enormous amount of momentum over the past few months. In May, we hired our first staff person for the state of Florida, Sofia Reed, to serve as the Coordinator for the Florida Diversity Council. Last month, Angela Ward became our second staff person for the state, and now serves as our Executive Director.
We are very excited to announce three new additions to the Florida Diversity Councilís Board of Directors. Betsy Williams, the SVP of Staffing & Diversity at Nielsen, not only joined as a Board member, but also became the President of our Tampa Bay chapter. Gail Williams, the Chief Diversity Officer and Director of Student Accounts at Hodges University, also joined our Board and will help us kick off our Naples chapter in 2012. Last, but not least, Molly McKinley, the Sr. Human Resources Manager at Bright House Networks, joined our Board as well. Betsy, Gail, and Molly are very excited to promote the Councilís efforts as active Board members.
The Florida Diversity Council will continue to expand in 2012. Although we currently have three active chapters in South Florida, Tampa Bay, and Orlando, we will open chapters in Jacksonville and Naples this January. In 2013, we plan to open our final chapter in Tallahassee. We are currently seeking passionate individuals to serve as officers and committee chairs for our regional chapters. We are also looking for organizations that are committed to diversity and community efforts to join our Board of Directors.
We look forward to working with you to promote diversity and inclusion throughout the state of Florida Ė
